8 Keys to a Successful Kickstarter Campaign

by Sep 22, 2021

When contemplating a Kickstarter campaign there are several items you need to take into consideration in order for your campaign to be successful.

Check out theses 8 tips for a successful Kickstarter campaign:

  1. Clear and Concise Message – One of the most important elements is to have a clear and concise message of what your campaign is, what it will benefit, a product, service, video, music, and why it matters. Make sure it’s to the point and effectively communicates the value it brings.
  1. Brand Story – Make sure to clearly define what your campaign will benefit to have a nice and tight brand story figured out. You’ll want to highlight your differentiators of how and why you are better than the competition, and define your value points. Each of these go into helping to define your brand value proposition.
  1. Intro Video – Most of the well-funded campaigns have a simple intro video that dynamically explains your why, brand, importance and call to action. Make a simple script with your most important point, and tell your story in a video that connects and compels.
  1. Compelling Call to Action (CTA) – Most successful campaigns have a strong and well stated call to action that people can relate to and that drives them to take action.
  1. Pitch Presentation – Not all products, services or projects have a presentation deck, but more complex or intricate stories may require a presentation deck to effectively communicate the true value of the offer.
  1. Intro Website – One of the things quite a few campaigns don’t do, but they should is develop an intro or basic website to provide more information to those who are seeking it. A simple website can be a huge benefit for those ideas that need to show more of their story, brand and message than what is allowed on Kickstarter.
  1. Social Media – You see a lot of ideas, projects and products spread the news of their campaign on social media platforms. This can be very helpful and can reach a ton of people that may not be looking for what you’re offering on Kickstarter. Utilize social media to spread the word and educate more people about your campaign.
  1. PR – Another medium to help spread the word about your campaign is public relations. Through news stories, articles and more, writing about a potential product, project or service on your website can be very effective to reach new potential pledges.

By utilizing these 8 steps you can dramatically increase the potential of your Kickstarter campaign being successfully funded.
